Interesting Conversation

Here is a conversation between my sister and my mom.

Mom: We could have gone to the Sletten's farm and had a biology experiment instead of going on this field trip.
Jessica: Whats biology?
Mom: It's when you butcher an animal.
Jessica: I don't like it when animals die.
Mom: But thats how the Slettens get their meat.
Jessica: Why don't they buy their food from the store?

After that we all had a good laugh. What I would consider that is moving from the city to the country.

The Sletten's Farm

Last week the youth in our church went to the Sletten's Farm. About two miles away from their farm were some snow drifts with about ten to twenty-five feet drop-offs. On some of the drifts there were five feet overhangs. What we would do is run to the edge jump on one of them as hard as we could and try to ride the snow down the hill. That was fun until Jonathan got the brilliant idea of just jumping off. Jonathan jumped off four times each time he faceplanted. He says he tried to faceplant but that would be hard to believe. One person jumped off and the snow went up to his chest. It was a lot of fun, sorry I don't have any pictures.

Jessica is losing teeth!!!

One hour less than a week later Jessica lost another tooth. She lost it Saturday Night at 11:00 o'clock. She was very happy about losing another tooth and got two dollars from the tooth fairy. With all this economic recession it seems to me that the tooth fairy is getting a bit richer. I don't remeber getting five dollars for my first tooth and two dollars for my second tooth.

Update on Jessica's Tooth

Well, last Sunday Jessica lost her tooth. She lost it before church and was very excited about it. It wasn't until last night that she finally put the tooth under her pillow for the tooth fairy to come. Here are a couple of pictures...

Whats going on!

Beautiful Snow Day!!!!!

North Dakota was in a seven year drought. My guess is that they have changed their minds about that! In the pass couple of months we have recieved over fifty inches of snow. Tusday it snowed some more which would probably puts us close to 15 inches for the month of January. They said last year it did not snow in the month of January. Walmart and Arrowhead (a shopping center) had to close their stores for a few days to because the snow on the roof was getting so heavy that it was not safe. Here are a few more pictures of the snow. These were taken at the Pearson's house.

The Clouds That Just Keep on Giving "Snow"!!!!!

It snow again last night. This time is was only about seven inches. We broke the record for snow in the month of December with around 22 inches and we already have close to ten inches for the month of January. There is a window that overlooks that gym in our house we put up something in the gym window that said "Let It Snow". We were at Youth and someone told us to take it down because they didn't want anymore snow. There are a few people in our church that are worried that it might flood. And a lot of people are saying that they haven't gotton this much snow for ten years!

!!HAPPY NEW YEARS!!

The first thing that we did today was played basketball with some guys in the church. I believe that we had enough for four on four. We started at 12:45am and stopped around 2:30am after that we talked for a little bit longer than I finally went to bed about 3:30am. We had our watch night service. We weren't able to have foot washing because we could not find the buckets and towels that we needed to have the foot washing.

My dad told my sister about this guy that was in Alaska and was sitting at his table in his house with a sleeping bag around him and he froze to death, my dad said that the guy was like a popsicle. Later on that day my sister was talking on the phone to one of her friends and was telling her friend that there was this guy in Alaska who was sitting at his kitchen table with a blanket around and he got so cold that he turned into a popsicle!
