Checking In

Things are going dandy out here in North Dakota.  Tomorrow we are taking off for the great city of St. Louis.  It is there that we will be trying to compete in the NABQT.  We have studied a little bit and are hoping that things will fall where we want them.  After that excursion we will be getting back just in time for Junior Camp which our quiz coach has to attend.

The Weekend

This weekend we had the pleasure of going on a canoe trip with our youth group.  It was much fun.  There were only two canoes that tipped and both times they were in practice sessions.  This is how it happened:  There was a water fight going on between the people in my canoe and the people in Jared's canoe.  My canoe had efficientely beaten them in the water fight when they were trying to get lots of water on us and tipped their canoe.  One of the kids in Jared's canoe went and climbed into our canoe, which was not smart.  The other person in my canoe, Jim, called out and said that someone should get the other canoe so we could row onto the shore.  The kid that climbed into our canoe took it upon himself to jump out of our canoe and tipped our canoe also.  We all had a great time and are still friends.  The weekend was capped when Melanie, Mark, and Matthew made it to our house at around 2:00 in the morning.

Happy Birthday

On this memorable day in history it is my father's birthday.  Just five years ago some of you fellow friends and family of mine sat in a backyard on Cornell Rd. in Hillsboro celebrating his 40th birthday.  Today he is celebrating his 45th birthday.  If you would like to try and encourage him you are more than welcome to, please leave a comment.

Busy

Sorry about the lack of posts on this blog over the last little bit.  We just got back from family camp yesterday and I was soooo tired.  We had a great trip to Oregon.  We really enjoyed seeing our family once again.  We stopped by Bethel and had an awesome time there.  We had a fine trip.

Family Camp was awesome.  Bro. Conners from Tuscon, Arizona and Bro. Erskine from Newport, North Carolina did a spectacular job.  The motto of camp was having a Friday night service every service, when finally Friday night came there was not that much jumping and aisle running but the Lord move mightily in that service and lives were changed.
